PJ Wine Presents
An Evening of Burgundy
with Clive Coates, MW

At The Mark Hotel

Join PJ Wine on Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Mark Hotel and meet Clive Coates, Master of Wine and Burgundy expert extraordinaire, as he leads us in a dinner celebration of Burgundy. With his unique access to each clos and domaine, and to individual négociants and vignerons, Coates may know more about the Côte D'Or and its wines than any other living writer.

Based in England, Clive has spent over 15 years exploring, visiting, and tasting the best of Burgundy, and is the author of Côte d’Or, described as "a work of love and passion, a volume of praise and criticism, but also a book of understanding and scholarship." Guests are invited to purchase a personally autographed copy of Côte d’Or through PJ Wine following the dinner.

The event will consist of a reception with Clive, followed by a 4-course pairing menu developed by the master chefs at the Mark Hotel. Under Clive’s guidance we have selected two wines per course from the 2002 White Burgundy ("…an outstanding vintage") and 2001 Red Burgundy ("unexpectedly good") vintages. Further details to come in the following days.
