Now in its third year, the Grand Tasting is an opportunity for wine and food lovers to sample hundreds of wines both renowned and undiscovered from all over the world, accompanied by indulgent samples from some of New Yorks top restaurants and food purveyors. For the first time, the Grand Tasting is centered on a theme: Food and Wine of the World, which celebrates the culinary and winemaking traditions of France, Italy, Spain and the New World. PJ Wines experts, who have hand-picked the wines to be poured at the event, will help guests discover the regions that have made each of these parts of the world famous, and learn about some of the newest areas that are showing promise. Wine highlights will include Château Margaux, Château Latour, Château dYquem, Krug “Grande Cuvée,” Sassicaia, Joseph Phelps “Insignia,” Caymus “Special Selection,” 62 CVNE “Viña Real” Gran Reserva, and 94 Vega Sicilia “Unico.” Since a regions food is intrinsically linked to its wines, guests will also have the opportunity to pair wines with foods from the very same area. Food sponsors include Cheese from Spain, Olive Oils from Spain, Redondo Iglesias USA, as well as DArtagnan, O&CO, and Nespresso Professional. Some of New Yorks top restaurants, including Barmarché, Beppe, Landmarc, Les Halles, Suba, and Vento Trattoria will also offer culinary creations that celebrate France, Italy, Spain and the New World. Tickets are no longer available for purchase online. However, tickets will be availavle at the door for purchase, payable by cash or check. Please note: tickets for purchases made after Nov. 9 will be available for pick up at the Will Call desk when you arrive on the night of the event. Or for more information, call 212 567-5500.
