Grand Tasting 2006 To Benefit City Harvest
Spanish Wine Festival Added This Year!
Attendees, thank you for making Grand Tasting 2006 To Benefit City Harvest a tremendous success!
The annual Grand Tasting to Benefit City Harvest is one of the highlights on wine-loving New Yorkers’ fall calendars. Sponsored by PJ Wine, the Grand Tasting will once again showcase hundreds of superlative wines from across the globe. This year’s event will be better than ever with the inclusion of PJ Wine’s celebrated Spanish Wine Festival. Mark your datebooks for the evening of Wednesday, November 15 for Grand Tasting 2006, which will be held at the Puck Building in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.
Now in its fourth year, the Grand Tasting is an opportunity for wine and food lovers to sample hundreds of wines—both renowned and undiscovered—from all over the world, accompanied by indulgent culinary samples from some of New York’s top restaurants and food purveyors, including Cheese from Spain, Despaña Brand Foods, Olde Hudson Gourmet Markets, Quebec Government House, and a team of star chefs who support City Harvest.
The Puck Building’s Grand Ballroom will feature wines from the world’s great wine producing regions, and celebrate the cuisines of France, Italy, and the New World. For the first time, the Grand Tasting will highlight the winemaking achievements of Spain with a full Spanish Wine Festival room dedicated to its top wines; and include mouth-watering Spanish cuisine and a showcase of Spain’s artisanal cheeses sponsored by Cheese from Spain. PJ Wine’s experts, who have hand-picked the wines being poured at the event, will help guests discover the regions that have made each of these parts of the world famous, and learn about rising regions that are now showing more promise than ever.
A few of this year’s highlights will include

City Harvest PJ Wine is very proud to support City Harvest, whose efforts are a profound service to New Yorkers. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit City Harvest.
Founded in 1981, City Harvest is the world’s first and New York City’s only food rescue organization, dedicated to feeding New York City's hungry men, women and children. This year, City Harvest will collect over 19 million pounds of excess, nutritious food from all segments of the food industry, including restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers and farms. This food is then delivered free of charge to more than 800 community programs throughout New York City using their fleet of 15 trucks and volunteers on foot. Each week, City Harvest helps over 260,000 hungry New Yorkers find their next meal. For more information visit www.cityharvest.org.
