The “Bradley Block” is a classic South Australian styled Grenache, with atypical juicy sweet black fruits, a massively shouldered linebacker-esque body and a profoundly deep palate presence that somehow manages to maintain the wine's strong balance and exceptionally decadent fruity intensity that conveys both its power and surprisingly velvety elegance. Only 300 cases were made of the 02 and we were lucky enough to get our hands on a limited quantity. I had a bottle of this blockbuster with ox-tail stew over the blizzard weekend and the dense plum and bramble tones intermingled beautifully with dramatically vibrant, richly steeped orange peel and saddle leather tones. Another classic paring with this Grenache is leg of lamb or even curried goat stew. This is a perfect and very affordable hearty red for rich winter fare. Donald “The 2002 Grenache Bradey Block exhibits subtle notions of creamy oak in its sumptuous bouquet of black raspberries and sweet cherry jam. Powerful, full-bodied, and voluptuous, it is loaded from beginning to end. The 16% alcohol is buried beneath a cascade of fruit and glycerin in this decadently hedonistic South Australian offering. Enjoy it over the next 5-8 years.” WA 91 |
