Léonard and Olivier Humbrecht produce an astonishing array of high quality wines. This is truly remarkable when you stop and consider the array of different varieties the domaine produces and the range of different sites they cultivate. There are many reasons why the wines of Zind Humbrecht are so successful; the fruit is sourced from numerous top-quality vineyard sites (totaling only 30 hectares), Léonard and Oliver are committed to very low yields, they use horses in the vineyards—as the sites are too steep for tractors—and father and son strive to let the individual characteristics of each vineyard site and the variety produced truly shine through the wines produced there. This cuvée is crafted from a blend of the tanks used to top off the different single vineyard bottlings of Gewurztraminer and it contains wine from across this estate's holdings.
