Villa medoro Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Montepulciano 2008(750ML)When we think Montepulciano, we usually think of acidic, straight-forward wines that go great with pizza and other red-sauce-based dishes, but that lack character. The Villamedoro is looking to change that profile, and delivers a big hearty punch, full of dark fruit, tobacco, and cured meat. And while this still has the expected acidity to cut through the pomadoro, it would work better with bolder dishes-sausage and peppers perhaps or a Bistek Fiorentina.
