90 WA- William Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Bench Blend 2008 (750ML)

Real quality begins with the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa, a blend of 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, the rest mostly Petit Verdot, and a tiny bit of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Malbec. Aged 21 months in French oak, it exhibits an opaque purple color as well as deep blackberry and cassis aromas intermixed with whiffs of herbs and smoke. Medium to full-bodied with soft tannins and a lush finish, it should drink well for 10-14 years.

Now owned by the vast Gallo empire, Gallo deserves enormous credit for finally getting these wines back on the track. The William Hill brand has been one of the most mediocre Napa names for many years, but that is certainly not the case with the current and upcoming releases. 90WA
