Francois Pinon Vouvray Silex Noir 2009 (750ML)That this wine has 16 grams of residual sugar goes to show what Pinon talks about when he starts discussing balance. On the nose, it starts off with an initial earthy, wooliness that quickly morphs into wafting honeysuckle, pear, and peach. This wine filled my mouth with flavor and yet remained so utterly light and clean, and had that same pithy citrus finish that I liked so much on the sparkler that made my mouth impatient for another sip.
