Clive Coates has described Bruno Clair's estate as, "the best cellar in the village (of Marsannay)" and none other than Mr. Burgundy, Remington Norman, has also written extensively about the property and their vineyards. For the money, this wine makes us nothing short of ecstatic. It has such an intense Burgundian aroma, it can bring tears to your eyes. Deep, perfumed, and classic. There is no shortage of that lovely pinot noir red fruit that makes the wines from here so in demand…and often expensive. Simply stated, this wine is a deal. You'll want to grab what you can and put it away. Pretend you didn't buy it and someday you'll have Christmas in your cellar. And while 2009 has gotten all the hype for recent Burgundy vintages, those with a taste for the more classic, cooler years (us!) will be well rewarded here. - PJ
